Arrested No More

Arrested Development is not coming back for a 4th season!! :( :(

http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,18669,00.html

Series creator Mitch Hurwitz announced his decision to quit the Emmy-winning comedy Monday, dealing a blow to fans still holding out hope it would land on the Showtime network...

Man...totally gutted by that. That was my favourite tv show...it was clever, quirky and hilarious all at the same time...but nobody gave it a chance!

To end with a quote from Arrested Development:

" G.O.B.: I don’t see you crying, robot. You taste these tears. Taste my sad, Michael.
Michael: I am not going to lick your eye, okay?

*minutes later*

G.O.B.: Taste the happy, Michael. Taste it.
Michael: Tastes kind of like sad. "

Imogen Heap 27.3.06

So..last night i was at Imogen Heap's gig with bert, chrissy, phan and sam. and i gotta tell you..it was definetly worth the wait! it was absolutely mind blowing..
we started to line at 6:15pm and kept ourselves amused by not tryin to step on dried bird poo and stories of basketball...recent going ons...body system malfunction...and by every coupla minutes, the line would jus get longer and longer..it was amazing since we were like possibly the 5th group of people in line so that meant a better chance of standing in the front row...
doors opened at like 7 and we (well...im thinking more "I") dashed in to get to the barricades...mission accomplished. front row! this was because:

a) we wanted to stand at the front
b) we werent gaggin to buy beers
c) we were chinese people who werent gaggin to buy beers
d) we were chinese christians who werent gaggin to buy beers
e) we had no money for beer ... maybe money for a polo ... but phan had the mint area covered as she brought some...which the security guards thought could be a bomb...

i dont know how long we were standing there for, but man...temperature was rising...people started to push inwards...a 'lovey dovey' koala-bear lookalike winning competition couple standin right next to me were really 'provoking' and 'invading' my personal space...phan quickly pointed there is no personal space in a gig which was a true point. so, i had to deal with "butt to thigh","hair to hair" and "butt to butt" contact all evening which was a little bit weird...

imogen heap's guest zoe keating came on first...she played the cello with a loop machine! ive never seen a loop machine with a cello before and it was incredible...really felt like a troupe of celloists...but when it was jus one woman...the only song name i could remember was "tetris head" (which had nothing to do with tetris there ending me and bert's attempt at retrieving the tetris soundtrack from the back of our minds) ... i think sam was totally totally into that seeing as she said she used to play the cello...but yeah, awesome start...

after that...more time in between...played lil games like 'names all the countries in the world' , 'she's comin out in 10...9..8..7..6..5..' and in case she didn't, it went to 'overtime' ... a long version of the 10 countdown but u start from 24 seconds,i think we even tried 3minutes 30 seconds as well..

Then Imogen was next! and she started off with a vocal version of "Just For Now" with a loop machine and clapping...couldnt get no better! it was totally amazing...she had the loop machine...the drum computer..an imberia which is the coolest thing...keyboard piano...a mac laptop for different sounds...a keyboard guitar...man..id so love 2 hours with her equipment to have a mess around...
My favourite song of the eve was "Headlock"...that was absolutely superb...zoe keating came out to play that song with imogen and it was amazing...u could feel the bass kick in and make ur heart jump and align itself to the beat...

oh yeah..and there was this one guy...so, u know how before the song totally ends but the singer finishes singing..theres that 'moment'..that 'moment' thats so delicate and u jus remain silent to take it in? yeah..some DUDE at the back kept verbally applauding her during those 'moments'...like:

"BRILLIANT!'
"THANK YOU IMOGEN!"
"FANTASTIC!"

hey?! buddy?! we're enjoying the 'moment' over here...! say it amongst the claps or after the gig DUDE...FANTASTIC!

show ended at like 10:30...chrissy pointed out she was givin autographs and pictures...we were a foot away...A FOOT AWAY! but all these people like jus grabbin and waving and shouting and bullying their way to the front...man...for that 5 minutes, chris and i shoulda been more aggresive and much ruder...

but all in all...i think, best gig ive been to...yes, better than the Backstreetboys...

March 24, 2006

THINKFilm has set a late-summer release for Farce of the Penguins, a parody of the documentary March of the Penguins to be narrated by Samuel L. Jackson. Bob Saget is producing with David Permut, according to Variety.

Saget wrote the script and is directing a feature that transforms the documentary's depiction of penguin survival and mating rituals into the story of one bird's search for love while on a 70-mile trek with hedonistic buddies obsessed with getting laid.

Saget voices the lovestruck penguin protag; Lewis Black, Mo'Nique and Tracy Morgan the other leads. Supporting critters will be voiced by Jason Alexander, James Belushi, Jason Biggs, Dane Cook, Harvey Fierstein, Whoopi Goldberg, Gilbert Gottfried, Norm Macdonald, Carlos Mencia, Alyson Hannigan, Jamie Kennedy, Jon Lovitz, Adam Duritz and Saget's Full House co-stars John Stamos and Dave Coulier, among others.

What I Miss..

So..yesterday and during a General Studies period..i picked up my pen and i started to doodle. And you know what...i've missed it.
I love doodling but so far recently, a lot of things have been goin on and i forgot the power of a simple doodle-session. for me, it totally relaxes me and jus slows things down...this is 1st choice alternative to tea. WITH tea...imagine the peace id get...
Quite proud of this doodle, it is of my friend Dominic and it was my first attempt...i like it.
I think ive forgotten parts of the 'old' me...not the things that i want to get rid of but the little things i used to do that really kept me moving forward...doodling was one of them...I want to retrace the little things like the weird affinity for Superheroes, music like the Backstreetboys, Doodling (obviously) and all sorts of weird junk that i used to do...maybe bedroom wrestling may make a weird re-appearance...who knows?

So..Adnan is standin next to one of the members of The Blue Man Group! A musical group that was featured alot in the Second season of "Arrested Development"! how awesome is that?! that is the closest we've ever got to "Arrested Development"...the 2nd closest was buying it on DVD.
Man..i really hope Showtime pick up Arrested Development.
Next opportunity for another character...Carl Weathers is apparently goin to Manchester for a geek convention...but ill need Gavin's help for that!

A Blankness

So...I've hit a period of time where i cant put things down whether it be on my blog or in my prayer journal..i dont know if its cos ive been tired or jus ran out of things to say cos it goes round in circles...this past week has been hard to jot anything down...like ANYTHING...nothin funny/silly/embarassing/inspiring has happened to me...

It feels like a gigantic pause.

Mind is filled with thoughts about failure and underachieving, people, where i am with God and how far sometimes, the need to go deeper with God...learnin to cope with the thought of loss (although no-one has died)...

But the world feels like its spinning faster than usual.
Realised today its only 3 weeks of school till Easter. Then 3 weeks in school after Easter. Then Study Leave. Then Exams. Then Summer. Then Results Day. Then packing up and moving on. Then University.

I feel like playing my life at slow-motion atm...i want to enjoy the little things a lil longer. Mais c'est la vie.

Walk By Faith

Well I believe you when you say
Your hand will guide my every way
Well I receive the words You say
Every moment of every day

Well I will walk by faith
Even when I cannot see
because this broken road
Prepares Your will for me

Help me to RID my endless fears
You've been so faithful for all my years
With the one breath You make me new
Your grace covers all I do

yeah, yeah , yeah, yeah, ya

well i will walk by faith
even when i cannot see
because this broken road
prepares your will for me

Well I'm broken- but I still see Your face
Well You've spoken- pouring Your words of grace

Well I will walk by faith
Even when I cannot see
Well because this broken road
Prepares Your will for me
(Repeat)
Well I will walk by faith
Even when I cannot see
Well because this broken road
Prepares Your will for me

Hallelujah, hallelu

I will walk by faith, I will walk by faith,
I will walk by faith
I will walk by faith, I will walk by faith,
I will walk by faith
I will walk by faith, I will walk by faith,
I will walk by faith
I will walk by faith
I will walk,I will walk
Faith
I will walk, I will walk by faith

This Man

So...Lent is here...the time where we all give up somethin we really really dig for 40 days...I've decided to try and give up tea...*gasp* *shock* *horror*

For someone of you, that might not be earth shattering...but to those that do, i think it is. So...let me introduce myself to those who don't...

Hi, my name is Ross. i love tea. i drink my tea out of a huge Homer Simpson mug (some can back me up on the size of this cup). i drink on average 2.85 cups of tea a day, the cup average may increase depending on weekends. i love tetley's and recently due to my birthday, im lucky to have started to have a high affinity for Mango Green Tea from Whittard's. not alot of things put me more at peace then when i drink tea. To sum up: Ross + Tea = a very happy man

So, this time around i've decided to give up tea for lent...and i gotta be totally honest, its been 2 days...i feel like 4 cups right about now...but this somethin i want to show to God that i can offer something as small as tea upto Him. 'cos in perspective...what did He sacrifice for us? cos im pretty sure it wasn't almond peanuts.

I was searchin for Jeremy Camp videos on You Tube and i stumbled upon this video...someone managed to splice parts of "The Passion" movie with Camp's song "This Man"...this post sounds more like an Easter special but im gonna post it anyway, jus to give y'all (rather ME) some encouragement to show how much He sacrificed for us...

whip out the 'ol John 3:16 for further reference:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life"

So... Milo from now on then eh?
